Monmade Product Profile: Otto Finn

From the kitchen to the baby’s room, local Pittsburgh maker Otto Finn creates beautiful, geometric textiles to give a modern feel to every room in your home. Partners Rona Chang and Ross Minzenberg started Otto Finn in 2015 with the goal of creating what they describe as “fashionably functional children’s accessories and thoughtfully designed home products,” which aim to add beauty to otherwise everyday objects.

Otto Finn’s main tenets are simplicity, minimalism, and functionality. Colors are kept clean and natural, with the occasional pop of color that adds a bit of whimsy to each collection. Rona and Ross use sustainable materials like organic cotton, recycled cotton, and flax linen for maximum durability and quality, and they design, sew, and screen print all of their designs by hand in their Pittsburgh studio. In addition to their focus on functionality and quality, Otto Finn also values sustainability, using fabrics, ink, and packaging to reduce their environmental impact.

Otto Finn’s latest collections include bandana bibs for babies featuring adorable bird prints, as well as iron-on puzzle kits designed to allow children 3 years or older to create their own T-shirt design. For the home, The Piramides Collection includes throw pillows and kitchen towels featuring designs inspired by the symbols of ancient civilizations. Geometric patterns feature curved lines and sun and moon symbols, all in shades of cream, grey, gold and white.

You can shop Otto Finn‘s entire current line at the company website, Wildcard in Lawrenceville, the Mattress Factory or at the Monmade website.
