The Best Takeout Spots on Every Delivery App for a Night In
Okay Pittsburgh, we get it: you’re dreary. You love being dreary, and you don’t plan on changing any time soon (or at least not for a few months). We’re tired of checking the weather every morning, hoping for something other than 40-degree temperatures and that little rain cloud icon, so we’ve decided to just give up, give in and make the most of it… from the comfort of the couch, that is. If you want to do the same, fire up your favorite food delivery app because there’s really no use getting ready and going out on a dreary weekend like this.
We’ve curated the ultimate list of takeout spots on every major food delivery app, and in just about every part of the city. Now all you’ll need to do is cue up Netflix, put on your favorite sweats and pour yourself a glass of wine while you wait.
El Burro – They are some of the best tacos in Pittsburgh — we say they’re the perfect thing to order for movie night. And don’t think we aren’t getting the chips and guac too.
Tamarind – Indian is one of the best takeout cuisines, especially when you’re craving something warm and filling. We recommend ordering extra garlic naan and mango chutney on the side.
Razzy Fresh – You might normally think of ordering something savory, but what about dessert and a movie at home?
Beer! – Yep, that’s right — we’ll always remember 2017 as the year that Postmates started offering beer delivery. Happy hour anyone?
All India – The app offers free garlic naan if you order more than $30, so it’s worth it if you love to dip.
Caliente Pizza – With just an $8 minimum and a $1.75 delivery fee, this is one of the best bangs for your buck on GrubHub. While their pizza is great, we can’t think of placing an order without their wings with bleu cheese dressing.
Ephesus Pizza – Don’t judge this book by its cover. While pizza is in their name it’s the gyros, Mediterranean appetizers, pide (Turkish flatbreads) that we are ordering here. Added bonus, $5 Off orders of $35 or more and they deliver til 2am!
Z-Best BBQ – Their name kinda says it all guys. And it’s the real deal.
Ramen Bar – There’s nothing better than a huge bowl of ramen on a chilly night in. Delivery is free with a $15 minimum.
Istanbul Sofra – For just $2 delivery when you spend $25, you can make your own Turkish feast — dips, warm pita, kebabs and all. Our go-to move is to order enough for lunch the next day, its just that good.
Chengdu Gourmet – This Squirrel Hill hotspot is a must for adventurous eaters, and they also offer $1 delivery on their signature red chili dumplings, dan-dan noodles and cumin lamb.
Slice on Broadway – Build your own pie and pair it with cheesy breadsticks for the ultimate classic movie night dinner.
Prantl’s Bakery – Yep, you read that right — order that famous burnt almond torte straight to your door. Can you say decadent?
Choolaah Indian BBQ – The brand new, delicious fast casual spot that opened earlier this year is an immediate hit, with the lines to prove it. But we are skipping those and dialing in our tikka order from the couch.
Salud Juicery – If you’re still trying to stick to your resolutions, add some green to your takeout routine with cold-pressed juices, smoothies and acai bowls.
Silk Elephant – It’s a little bit sad to miss out on the charming dining experience by ordering in from Silk Elephant, but it’s definitely not sad enough to miss out on their insanely good Panang curry.
