Luxury apartment living & life exposed
The Foundry Pool & Courtyard in Lawrenceville

Best Apartment (and City) Pools

With temps creeping into the 90s and Pirates sliding further away from .500, summer is most definitely here.  And with it, pool season.  It’s that magical time where you can spend an entire afternoon effectively napping with the occasional dip into the water and it’s an activity instead of laziness.  So if you love a poolside chill and looking for your new apartment, here is our list of favorite places.   If you aren’t looking for a new apartment, then I’d start looking for some new friends that living in one of these buildings to reap the poolside benefits!

The OG: Cork Factory.   Before the apartment boom and Strip District techies started to move in, there was the Cork Factory.   They set the bar for everything from design to details and still have one of the most amazing pools in the city.  The riverfront pool & hot tub combination still feels like you are lounging at a five-star historic resort.

Indoor/Outdoor Pool - Bakery Living Orange Courtyard lounge and pool - Bakery living

Best Year Round: Bakery Living.  Whether there is six inches of snow on the ground or it 95 and sunny, the pool at Bakery Living is ready to roll.  This indoor pool is surrounded by garage doors that open onto a sundeck with lounges and grills for poolside fun 365 days a year.

The Yards Riverfront Pool in the Strip District

Most Park-like Setting: The YardsThere is over an acre of green space to hang in prior to cannon-balling into this pool.  If you perfect weekend afternoon includes frisbee or cornhole (with a couple cold beverages) and a pool or hot tub, then this is the spot for you.  Their patio is also super deluxe with an outdoor living room complete with a massive flat-screen TV, a firepit, grills and features some incredible riverfront sunsets.

Southside Works City Apartment indoor/outdoor pool Southside Works City Apartment Courtyard

Best Poolside Amenities: Southside Works City Apartments. Another 365 day pool &  spa (hot tubing on Christmas anyone?), the garage doors from this pool open up to a courtyard packed with amenities.  An outdoor bar/kitchen with grills, a bocce court, a fire pit, a massive screen for movies/sports game, lounges/cabanas and more.

The Foundry Pool & Courtyard in Lawrenceville

Best New Comer: The Foundry.  Lawrenceville is pool-less no more with the opening of this beautiful babe earlier this spring.  The heated courtyard pool looks more like a pool from an LA boutique with its white canvas chairs and chaise, fountain and bright yellow sun shades.   Added bonus, the courtyard also features a bocce court, grills and the adjacent (and fully stocked!) resident kitchen/bar.

Resort Style Pool at Eastside Bond

Best in Show: Eastside Bond.  From the street, there is no indication that one of the prettiest pools in the city is smack in the middle of Eastside Bond but it is and its amazing.   The saltwater pool is as lux as it comes from the seating submerged in the pool to the jetted bubbles to the surrounding scenery (both landscaping and people!).  But this perfect setting comes at a price.   Everyone that lives in the property wants to be and be seen poolside.  So make sure to scout your location early!

Best City Pool (tie): No pool at your place, then city pools to the rescue.  Our favorites:  The Polish Hill (get a spot on the grass just at the base of the hill) and Highland Park.  $30 gets you a summer of 12′ deep ends and blue paint edge sitting.

On the Radar: Arsenal 201, Riverfront Landing and Downtown’s first rooftop pool at Kaufmann’s Grand on Fifth Ave. All three of these properties under construction will be adding pools and definitely looking to one-up the competition.  Stayed tuned for the results!
